Mexican baja hoodies are the pullover sweaters with hoods that were famous in the 70’s and are often referred to as drug rugs because so many hippies wear them. The hippies started to call them hippie hoodies but in Mexico they are known as a sudadera de jerga. The baja shirt is thick and warm, with each one being hand made in Mexico and therefore unique.
Many people call them mexican ponchos or baja ponchos but a poncho is practically a mexican blanket with a hole cut in the middle for your head. A Mexican poncho does not have sleeves or a hood. They are better used as a Mexican yoga blanket because their size, when unfolded, is the perfect size to fit a yoga mat.
